A tiny FYI. The reason TX was Blue was b/c of the Civil War. Lincoln was actually a Republican. Thus TX, a slave state, was Democrat. Then in the ’70s President LBJ (a Democrat from TX) enacted new Civil Rights legislation (that always seems to be attributed to JFK for some reason) that gave Blacks and other minorities more rights…and he is quoted saying something along the lines as having handed over the south to the GOP for the next 20 years…he was right, except it’s been closer to a 40 year backlash.
