How To Make Nipple Pasties! Super Easy!

Cut a pattern. This is a heart that is about four inches wide by about three inches tall. Circles are SUPER easy.

Cut out two shapes from your fabric with your pattern. I used pink felt. Felt is nice and strong but it can be difficult to glue things to it given its porosity.

Cut a narrow sliver out of the bottom, then overlap the edges like so:

Hot glue the edges of the overlap together. Then decorate! I put crystals around the edge.

I found hot glue too unwieldy for small crystals, so I used a silicone craft glue.

Then I cut two tiny slices at the bottom of the heart with an x-acto knife, and put two feathers in. I hot glued them in place from the back.

Glue them to your boobs with eyelash adhesive! If using felt, I would recommend putting a line of hot glue around the edge of the back of the pastie, since the eyelash glue soaked into the felt. That way, you could just put eyelash adhesive onto the rubbery surface of the dried hot glue.

Pretty!

This Is A Very Big Step For Me, People

Ok, so we had a garage sale at our lovely host’s home last weekend, and I made up a little display of all my jewelry I have made recently.

I didn’t sell anything, but I am not disappointed, since I hardly think I reached any of my intended target demographics, as the majority of our visitors were elderly men and soccer moms. However, I did get a lot of compliments on everything, especially the feather earrings, which I am really enjoying making!

But I also realized this: I am never going to sell anything if I don’t put it in front of people. I mean, I knew that. But I still never did anything about it.

So, I am going to put all of these up on Etsy soon. Like, this week soon. If you see anything you like, please let me know, and I will save it for you!

Look What I Made, Part 2

She wouldn’t get naked for me, but I think we match pretty well anyway. I am totally going to make a few of these things and take them to the park along with my jewelry and see if anyone will buy them from me.

SO. CUTE.

Look What I Made!

Naked tutu pictures! Oh, how I have missed my tripod and DSLR camerachild. For info on how you, too, can make a lovely tutu, see this tutorial!

Procrastination Tips: Holiday Edition

So if you, like me, belong to the highly exclusive club of the People Who Like The Rush Of Doing Things Last Minute, you may or may not have already sent out festive seasonal greetings to your beloved friends and family. I’m betting you belong to the “may not have” camp, and that you will continue to think about it until, say around the second or third week of January (hey, better late than never, right?), and then shrug and say “next year, FOR SURE”.

Well, no more. With the help of this super easy website, you too can send beautiful holiday missives of cheer to your highly appreciative and amazed family (sorry, I must have woken up in an extra sarcastic mood today).

It seriously took 5 MINUTES to make the card. I chose my template, uploaded a charming picture of our sexy mugs (can you tell it was the 104th one?), customized the 3 lines of text by adding our names, and BAM. Of course, we had problems finding the 4×8 photocard paper that HP assured us existed, but I have reason to believe you can find it at Walgreens. Or you can buy 8×10 semi-gloss photo paper, and cut them out yourself. Oddly, I enjoyed that part.

With the help of your handy label printing skills, I would venture to guess that you could have around 20 of these bad boys in an envelope and ready to go in around an hour or so, provided you got all of the supplies BEFOREHAND.

They may even look something like this:

So get to it! Surprise your family and show them how far you’ve come. And come back in about a week or so for help on getting those thank you cards out before your grandma writes you off forever.

DIY: Light Boxez!!

So I made this awesome light box to take pictures of my jewelry, since that is the only thing holding me back right now from actually putting my bling up for sale. It was very easy and only took about an hour!

I found this website very helpful. I used white tissue paper for the sides, and used duct tape to reinforce the edges. Now I just need to find some bendy lamps for lighting and I’ll be good to go! Oh, and something a little prettier to hang said bling from.

I’m also emailing these pics to Freya at Fish Nor Fowl to submit for her weekly challenge. I’m really enjoying her stuff right now so I want to contribute!

Font porn

I am addicted to fonts. It’s art! But instant! Every time I design something new, I have to go look for a new font (or 10), because YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT COULD BE OUT THERE. It could be better than anything heretofore seen. Yeah, I need to get out of this industry.

I haven’t even gotten into the harder stuff, like font brushes. I think I’m afraid I will like it too much, and will spend all day designing headers and pages and business cards and other gewgaws that never see the light of day.

I wanted to share this website: dafont.com

Here is a sampling of the gorgeousness I found there:

Also: new header in the works!! And it’s going to be clickable!! I am learning CSS like mad because I have an intense urge to customise EVERYTHING. I am having to work on it at night, because the cracked photoshop on my work computer shuts down every time I try to add a second layer of anything.  Mucho annoying.
