This, my friends, may possibly be my best thrift find yet. You may remember my 1950’s Dubrowsky & Joseph faux fur that I found at Night of Joy vintage. It cost me around $60.00, which seemed like a great deal, especially since it quickly became one of my most prized possessions.

We were at Thrift Town on Jacksboro Highway last weekend, and I found this lovely. People, it is the spitting image of my Dubrowsky & Joseph. It is a slightly different cut and a different color, but everything else is the same, down to the tags and lining. I don’t know what year it’s from though. Anyone know a good way to tell?

And, since Thrift Town so generously has a $10.00 punch card for each $200.00 you spend, and I happened to have a full one, this coat cost me $8.00.

I think it really may be the best find yet!

Also featuring:

  • And OMG, the first snow! Well, technically it’s not snow. It just sleeted a whole buttload last night, but I can pretend!

Here is an awesome tuxedo-ish jacket I thrifted last week. It has these sweet gold buckles and exaggerated shoulders. Black and gold is one of my favorite color combinations! With enough gold, you can wear all the black you want and never look goth!

Also, check out my new glasses!

  • Black tee and skinny jeans, Target
  • Gold chain necklace, World Market
  • Ruth Saltz purse, thrifted
  • Black slouchy leather boots, no label, thrifted

So here are my new favorite pants ever. I am not a pants kind of girl; I generally like to feel the breezes on my lady parts. But oh, these pants are divine. They have zippers up the side of the leg, which allows me to wear them either on the inside or outside of my shoes. They also make me feel totes badass, which is why I am scowling in these pictures.

  • Red suede jacket with frog closure, thrifted (Pamela McCoy label)
  • Black denim skinny jeans, Target
  • Black satin ruffle neck shirt, Go International
  • Black ruffled purse, Sondra Roberts, thrifted
  • Ralph Lauren sunglasses
  • Black leather slouchy boots, no label, thrifted
  • Chain necklace, gifted

Please Help!

My husband wants to buy these shoes! I am speechless. Are they hideous? Do they deserve a strict veto? Should I just let him get the crazy things? Will all of the other backpackers laugh at him? And they’re so expensive!

Ahhhhhh!

Thrift Score

Remember last week when I mentioned my favorite thrift store, Jueves? Well, it’s not really called that, but Thursday is the best day to go, and Jueves is Spanish for Thursday…brushing up on my language skillz, yo.

Anyway, we went again a few days ago, and I scored this gorgeous purse for a dollar:

It’s made of dark brown leather which has a beautiful sheen, even though it is visibly worn, a heavy gold chain handle, and a gold lion head on the front!

It took me forever (ok, like 10 minutes) to figure out what the lining said so I could correctly identify the label. It’s by Ruth Saltz, and I can’t find much about her online, but it appears that she was a handbag designer in the 70’s.

I love the gold lion head (which seems to be her signature), and the gold chain handle. The reason it stood out to me in the first place was the quality of the metal chain; it hasn’t tarnished at all!

My new favorite bag!

I have never owned a piece of clothing that I would describe as “rad”, but this shirt now fills this void.

These are THE coolest animals ever. They are wearing 3-D glasses, the cobra is wearing headphones, the monkey has a mic, and the shirt is printed with multiple color outlines, so it really looks 3-D!

Also, everything I have on today is from Target except for my boots (which you’ve seen more than a few times before), so I won’t do a breakdown here.

I LOVE THIS SHIRT! It’s coming with me to Mexico.
