Current Status: Drooling
I think I just made the most terrifyingly rich and chocolaty brownies ever, using this recipe.
Of course, how else could I have rewarded the view from the window?
Unfortunately, these pictures do not do justice to the strangely attractive sheen of sweat, or to the deliciously chiseled v of the pubic bones. AHEM.

Daily Outfit 06/15/2009
This is what I wore today. I curled my hair! I somehow never had the time to primp as a backpacker…it’s nice to be back home with all of my curling and straightening devices!
White front pleated silk shirt, thrifted
The shortest denim shorts I have ever owned(!), from Wet Seal
Crazy patchwork bag, from Mexico (LOVE this bag)
Sunglasses, from Wet Seal
Jade necklace, from Vietnamese lady
Gold vintage locket, from Nathan
Coral bracelet, rings and sash, from Mexico
Leather sandals, from Mexico (I honestly have no other shoes with me right now)

Can you spot the ghostly figure of the girl in the reflection, waving to you? Her eye is all squinched up, because that is how she takes pictures. For some reason.
I am getting SO much better at throwing new outfits together. It’s all thanks to my ever-lessening desire for things to match. (As evidenced by my last outfit.)
I’m thinking, as long as you have a color scheme where your colors are complimentary, pile on the patterns, textures and jewelry! Let’s see if this continues to be a good thing.

Daily Outfit 06/14/2009 Pink And Purple Silk
I love silk. Silk is my new fabric of choice for summer, especially for swelteringly hot Texas summer days, when the thermometer in the house says 90 degrees and it’s only just June.
Here I am wearing:
Multi-layered silk sari skirt, from Earthbound Trading Company
Pink and purple peony silk shirt, from Ann Taylor
Leather sandals, from Mexico
Sunglasses, from Wet Seal
Random bracelets

Thrift Gloat
Another trip to our favorite thrift store yielded, as usual, some great finds. I must begin with this blue dress.
Polyester. Zipper. Shoulder pads. Primary color. Boxy sleeves. Check, check, and check. And yet, somehow, despite all of these horrific 80’s trademarks, this dress attains Epic status. Behold.
The silhouette! It is divine, no? LOVE LOVE LOVE. Although I wish I knew the label! Someone must have found it scratchy.
The brown coat. Made of a strange fabric not unlike felt. Very warm. This coat has a great shape as well. I love cool weather! (Exqueeze the bad shots, I need a battery for my remote.)
Closeup of the grey leather boots! I have A Knack for picking up shoes with no label. But they are lovely boots, elephantine in their greyness. (Did you know, I hate the spelling “gray”? I do.)
Oh, and guess what:
I paid 1.00 for each of these pretties. ‘Cause that’s how Jueves rolls.

I LOVE TO BAKE COOKIES!
Would you like some warm peanut butter cookies?
Maybe you would rather have a few oatmeal raisin cookies instead. Glass of cold milk not optional.
Special trick: soak raisins in hot water to plump them up before adding them to the batter!
Of course, the fact that they were made by a girl with pink hair that adores baking just makes them even tastier.
Enjoy the virtual yumminess!

This Is A Very Big Step For Me, People
Ok, so we had a garage sale at our lovely host’s home last weekend, and I made up a little display of all my jewelry I have made recently.
I didn’t sell anything, but I am not disappointed, since I hardly think I reached any of my intended target demographics, as the majority of our visitors were elderly men and soccer moms. However, I did get a lot of compliments on everything, especially the feather earrings, which I am really enjoying making!
But I also realized this: I am never going to sell anything if I don’t put it in front of people. I mean, I knew that. But I still never did anything about it.
So, I am going to put all of these up on Etsy soon. Like, this week soon. If you see anything you like, please let me know, and I will save it for you!

The Most Boring Garage Sale In The World
This is what we did last weekend:
This is the sad story of the 200.00 shoes with a 25 cent sticker on them. I am that hard on shoes. They were in such bad shape that no one even so much as tried them on.
We were very, very bored, so we took a lot of these kinds of pictures.
I am in love with these hands. How could I not be? Swoooooon.
Look at that handsome man’s hair!
Jewelry pictures soon!

Daily Outfit 06/05/2009
New hair pictures! I diluted my Special Effects Atomic Pink color with a LOT of conditioner, and got this great color. It’s a more true pink than the wild fuchsia of straight up Atomic Pink.
Also, an example of what I am wearing these days. It’s a lot more casual than what I was into before we left on our backpacking trip, but my gosh, it’s also a lot more comfortable.
Black jumpsuit/romper: Target
Silk teal cami: thrifted
Ethnic sash: Mexico
Shoes: huaraches from Mexico
Feather earrings: made by me!
